Diners & Restaurants
Rosie's Cafe
2202 W. Madison St.
Sioux Falls, SD
Rosie's Cafe is this little out of the way diner that few notice unless you've stopped before, or have been headed to the SF Canaries Stadium or the Denny Sanford Premiere Center traveling W. Madison Street. Rosie's is very unassuming and there is nothing decadent about the outside unless you want to consider the neon Rose sign above the door; far from decadent but a suiting tribute to Rosie Warner who started the business in 1984, Rosie's Cafe has been going for 35 years but if you considered skill and talent, it's been going much longer. Home cooking is their forte' and the menu rarely changes; that's because they have such a following of their traditional meals that have passed on from mother to daughter. Be sure to check out Rosie's next time you're in or passing--Tell them you saw them on Travelbackroads.today!! ( Information found in SD Magazine.)

Specialty Foods
(A Favorite Ice Cream Shop!)
B & G Milky Way
Ice Cream Shop - Locally Owned
2410 W. 12th Street
Sioux Falls, SD
Also, 5508 W. 41st St.~~730 S. Sycamore Ave & and 69th
You have to make this a repeatable excuse when you live in Sioux Falls or visit. A favorite "blast from the past" ice cream shop sits among modern day businesses and appears like it did when it started in 1954. B & G got its name when Bertha and Guy Higgins purchased the drive-in and changed it's name from Ray's Diner to B & G Milkyway.
Little has changed with the Milky Way except to ad 3 more locations over the years. From slush whips, hot dogs, BBW beef, malts, sundaes and cones, to local ownership and 4 locations, the B & G Milky Way continues to thrive and be a favorite among many and continues to serve each customer with a smile and a Christian based background. This is a must when visiting Sioux Falls! (These young ladies were willing to smile for my camera--always friendly employees!)
